The Story
Silver Lake is a West Coast IPA with the backbone that you expect, alongside an experimental hop variety. A malt bill of dextrin, caramalt and Vienna malts was used for a balanced mouthfeel to showcase the hops. HBC (Hop Breeding Company) 638 was used along with some classics that we know well, Citra and Chinook. HBC 638 gives us tutti frutti type flavours of sweet fruits, citrus notes and berries, blending this with tropical Citra and piney Chinook gives us a fruit IPA with a touch of west coast pine.
