The Story
Brewed in collaboration with Dead End Brew Machine, this is a deep rich imperial stout, layered with dark, roast and crystal malts, along with a 100kg of Tate and Lyle black treacle. The treacle adds a rich bittersweet flavour with notes of liquorice and caramel. Conditioned on staves from a PX cask, which was chopped up and toasted in the smoker first. The result is a powerful stout with notes of treacle, plums, burnt caramel, barrel oak and a whisper of smoke.
