100% Macabeu grape from the Gaia Valley in Tarragona, Spain.
The grapes might only have spent around 5 days of skins so the colour still leans towards white, but the aromatic and citrus aroma, along with a slight effervescent mouth feel reveal a more complex and vibrant taste to this wild orange wine.
Strictly no additions. Working simply with stainless steel and fibreglass, a small selection of barrels and glass demijohn - all varieties see a few days of gentle infusion maceration and are very lightly basket pressed; yielding textural, aromatic wines.
LaRural is the deeply personal project of brothers Xavi and Andreu Padró, who transitioned from careers in architecture and mechanics to pursue winemaking on their family’s fourth-generation farm in Alt Camp, Catalonia. Their goal is to craft light, fresh, and expressive natural wines with absolutely no additives. The name 'LaRural' is a nod to their connection to the rural environment and is a homage to their mother, who was the primary caretaker of the vineyards before they took over. They champion forgotten local grape varieties, farming their plots—composed of lime, clay, and river stone—with complete organic certification.
