The Story
Blend of wildberry mead and bourbon barrel-aged barley wine and imperial stout.
A caramel-forward braggot that came to life after trying different blends of mead and barrel-aged beer. For this release they blended a wildberry mead with a bourbon barrel-aged barley wine and imperial stout (Golden Tears). The beers added heavy caramel notes, dried fruit and light notes of vanilla to the mead. Making it very barley wine-esque in the flavor profile, while still primarily being a mead.
The combination of light roast from the stout and acidity from the fruit, makes the caramel notes from the barley wine feel almost salty and savory.
