The Story
100% Chardonnay from Marlborough, New Zealand.
Rich • textural • creamy citrus • toasted chestnut.
This is a concentrated and powerful expression of Chardonnay, displaying a brilliant, pale lemon hue. The palate offers a vibrant mix of sweet citrus, such as lemon curd and key lime, with a persistent mouthfeel achieved through maturation on the yeast lees and a moderated influence from French oak barrels.
Selection Massale is the passion project of Dan Gillett, the founder of the prominent New Zealand organic and natural wine distribution company, Wine Diamonds. Launched in 2022, the ethos behind the project is to create consistently high-quality, organic wines that authentically express the variety, region, and unique vineyard characteristics. The name 'Selection Massale' refers to the traditional French method of vineyard propagation, where desirable vines from an established vineyard are selected to plant a new one, thereby protecting genetic diversity—a philosophy that underpins the selection of unique vineyard fruit for these wines.
