55% Pinot Meunier, 45% Pinot Noir from new English winemakers Titch Hill based down on the Sussex downs.
A small, but high-quality first harvest from a south-facing slope overlooking the sea on the Sussex Downs. Planted in 2019 on chalky clay soils peppered with flint.
Demesne is the historic name of this vineyard site and is the old Sussex name for a field reserved for the landowner’s use (i.e. ‘domaine’, and also pronounced much the same way!).
100% hand-destemmed. No stalk inclusion. No crushing. Semi-carbonic maceration for 1 week before being pressed into an old oak barrel. Fermentation finished in barrel after 4 weeks, where it stayed on full lees until bottling on 1st April.
311 bottles. No filtration. No temperature control. Just grapes. Nothing added.
